ORTHOPAEDIC TREATMENTS

COMMON CONDITIONS

  1. BACK PAIN
The most common reason to consult a doctor, or take an MC for. A leading cause of disability. Measures can be taken prevent or relieve most back pain episodes. If prevention fails, simple home treatment and proper body mechanics often will heal your back within a few weeks and keep it functional. Surgery is rarely needed to treat back pain.

  2. NECK PAIN
Another common complaint. Neck muscles can be strained from poor posture — whether it's leaning over your computer or hunching over your workbench. Osteoarthritis also is a common cause of neck pain. Seek medical care if your neck pain is accompanied by numbness or loss of strength in your arms or hands or if you have shooting pain into your shoulder or down your arm.

  3. JOINT PAIN
The joint can feel stiff, achy, or sore with a burning, throbbing, or “grating” sensation. While stiffness may ease with more movement, too much activity could make the pain worse. It can limit a person’s ability to do basic tasks and affect the quality of life. Treatment should focus not only on pain but also on the affected activities and functions.

Tends to affects those who have had previous injuries to a joint / overused a muscle / arthritis or other chronic medical conditions / suffer from depression, anxiety, and/or stress / are overweight / older individuals.

  4. NUMBNESS IN LIMBS

Numb sensations may be focused on one body part, or you may feel tingly all over, as if you’re being pricked with many small needles. It is a common symptom associated with several different conditions that range from neurological damage to sensory-related conditions. In some instances, numbness may even indicate a medical emergency, such as a stroke.

  5. SHOULDER PAINS

Several factors and conditions can contribute to shoulder pain. The most prevalent causes are characterised by swollen tendons, and stuck rotator cuffs. It may be the result of injury to another location in your body, usually the neck or biceps.

  6. KNEE AND HIP PAINS

These joints must bear the full weight of your body while at the same time allowing for a wide range of motion. Wear and tear, injury, and simple genetic predisposition can all contribute to knee or hip pain. For many people, knee and hip problems become so intractable that the best solution is to replace a worn-out knee or hip with a mechanical joint with a total knee replacement surgery.
