COMMON CONDITIONS

  1. SLIPPED DISC
    Common issue with one of the rubbery disks that sit between the individual bones that stack to make your spine. A spinal disk has a soft, jellylike center encased in a tougher, rubbery exterior. It occurs when some of the center pushes out through a tear in the exterior.

  2. SPINAL STENOSIS
    The narrowing of the spaces within your spine, which can put pressure on the nerves that travel through the spine. It occurs most often in the lower back and the neck. At times un-symptomatic, others may experience pain, tingling, numbness and muscle weakness.

  3. SPINAL FRACTURE
    Damage to any part of the spinal cord or nerves at the end of the spinal canal often causes permanent changes in strength, sensation and other body functions below the site of the injury.

  4. SPINAL INFECTION
    The bacteria usually originate in other parts of the body and are carried to the spine through the bloodstream. They can also enter as a result of injury or intravenous drug use. Infections are rare but can include infection of the discs, the spinal cord tissue, one or more vertebrae, and the facet joints.

  5. SPINAL TUMOUR
    A growth that develops within your spinal canal or within the bones of your spine. Tumors which begin in the cells within the spinal cord. Tumors which grow in the membrane surrounding or the nerve roots that reach out.
